During this phase teachers model how to make changes to the class text.  This is done by making changes such as; characters, setting or subjects whislt ensuring the original basic story/text pattern is kept.

In line with the new curriculumn, the ‘writers’ process’ is modelled by the teacher and then practiced by the children.

  

The high quality shared writing during this process is the key to the children’s success in the next independent phase of writing.
