It has been another great week in Walrus class. Despite the cold weather, the children have remained full of energy and enthusiasm. We have been extremely busy completing our Topic trip recounts and making great use of the skills we learnt at Butser Ancient Farm last week.
In English, we have started our independent setting descriptions and it is brilliant to see the children using their knowledge of expanded noun phrases and fronted adverbials. We will be continuing our writing next week.
Maths has been very interesting over the last week too. We have used Carroll charts and Venn diagrams and to sort numbers into multiples and odd/even. The resilience shown by the children during this activity was fantastic and they all made wonderful progress.
Finally, we have started to learn our 4 times tables. We are using some fun songs to help us with this and will continue to focus on it over the next few weeks.
