Retelling a story until they know it by heart and can do so fluently.


  • A Multi-sensory approach:

Children learn through action and drama, bright and colourful story maps and props.

  • Participation:

Children are encouraged to learn the text as part of the whole class, through a multi-sensory approach (as stated above)

  • Communal:

All children have the opportunity to perform and re-tell their stories through videoing, whole School assemblies, story telling time and across classes and Year groups.

We actively encourage parents to become involved in this process by supporting their child in learning and performing the story at home.
