COLD WRITE (Juniors only):
In the Junior School all children complete a piece of writing at the start of each new text type, through assessment, the teacher is able to teach the necessary skills required for the new text UNDERSTANDING A STORY/TEXT: Understanding a story or text thoroughly and being able to discuss it’s content, structure, language features and their effect. Children use these features to create a toolkit for their new piece of writing. |
PARTICIPATION:
Children respond to the story/text in a whole class approach, through activities including hot seating, drama, predicting and explaining.
