At King’s Academy Northern Parade, safeguarding sits at the heart of everything we do. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, we are fully committed to ensuring that every pupil is safe, protected and able to thrive. We believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued and understood, and we recognise that strong, trusting relationships are the foundation of this. Our staff know our pupils well. We know their stories, their strengths, their vulnerabilities and this deep knowledge helps us to notice small changes, listen carefully and act quickly when needed.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. At KANP, we work together with vigilance, compassion and professional curiosity. We understand that children may communicate concerns in many different ways, and we are committed to looking beyond the obvious to ensure no child’s voice goes unheard. Our team takes time to build positive relationships so pupils feel confident to share worries, ask for help and know they will be taken seriously.

We take great pride in our strong safeguarding culture. This includes rigorous systems, clear procedures and regular training for all staff so that concerns are recognised and acted upon promptly. We actively promote early identification of need and provide coordinated support for vulnerable pupils, including those with SEND, those known to social care and those experiencing adversity.  But safeguarding at King's Academy Northern Parade is more than a process; it is a mindset. It is the belief that every moment with a child is an opportunity to protect, support and empower them.

We work closely with families, external agencies, the local authority and our wider Trust to ensure that support is coordinated and responsive. Whether through early help, pastoral care, mental-health support or multi-agency partnership, our aim is always the same: to keep children safe and help them thrive.

Our safeguarding culture is rooted in humanity. We support each other as professionals, we challenge each other when something doesn’t feel right, and we hold ourselves accountable for maintaining the highest standards. Together, we ensure that King’s Academy Northern Parade is a place where every child is seen, where every child is valued and every child can grow with confidence.

If you ever have a concern about a pupil’s safety or wellbeing, please contact our safeguarding team.
