King's Group Academies

As this is being written, remembrance day is very much in our
thoughts. The children have been busy making poppy wreaths in
school and talking through what “poppy” day means at this level of
understanding. Many of the children have said that they have
coloured their poppy pictures and displayed their work in the
windows of their homes, so this truly is a shared event between
home and school. Thank you for your support for this idea.
Well, we are getting back into school routine after the half term
break, and it’s clear that the children are gaining confidence and
concentration - slowly but surely!! In music the children are
beginning to practise songs ready for their digital Christmas
performances…. yes, we’re all going to be movie stars now!! We are
all learning new skills, including the staff, and gradually becoming
more creative in our use of technology.
The class teachers are working very hard with the children to make,
creative and inspire in all areas of their work, and judging by the
smiles on most of the children’s faces, the children are more than
happy to learn too. Certainly it’s becoming increasingly difficult each
week to nominate children for awards……they are all so fantastic!
On a practical note, recorder lessons are now up and running online.
These are suitable for beginners and improvers in years 2 and 3, (or
older) and can be found through Google classroom. Your child (or
you if you want to learn!!) will need a descant recorder. I have
suggested that they can earn their recorder by doing extra jobs at
home……. just an idea!! Please go to Google classroom/MUSIC/
Recorders.
Have a great week and stay safe
